Newark and Elizabeth Immigration Courts Probably Open For Detained Cases During Any Shutdown

Please call ahead to get the official word, but it seems like if there is a government shutdown, Newark Immigration Court and Elizabeth Immigration Court in New Jersey would continue to operate for their detained cases. In Newark, those are being heard right now by Judge Reichenberg and Judge Finston. If there is a shutdown and you have a case for someone who is not detained, call ahead to find out whether the case is being heard.
